Blended means that you do 3 hours of online learning at your leisure in the comfort of your home, office, or safe space. Then once that is complete you will come into the classroom on one of our scheduled courses to carry out the practical elements: CPR, AED, Seizures, Recovery position & choking.

This course is suitable for anyone who requires the basic knowledge of Emergency First Aid. Delegates must be at least 16 years of age for certification.

Course aims and objectives

The purpose of the course is to give delegates an understanding of how to provide basic life saving first aid treatment in the workplace.

By the end of the course delegates will:

  • Understand the Health and Safety regulations
  • Be able to administer basic first aid
  • Understand what to do and what not to do in an emergency situation
  • Be able to maintain and use the first aid box and understand its contents
  • Be able to keep accurate records of incidents in the log book

Course outline:

  • Health and Safety (first aid) regulations 1981
  • The role of the first aider
  • Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and Automated External Defibrillation (AED)
  • (Life-threatening bleeding) as per the awarding bodies’ requirements and the Health & Safety Regulations 1981.
  • Choking
  • Shock
  • Bleeding
  • Eye Injuries
  • Poisoning
  • Burns and Scalds
  • Broken Bones
  • Heart Attacks and Strokes
  • Diabetes
  • Seizures/Epilepsy
  • Asthma
  • First Aid Kits

We can offer courses on company premises for a maximum of 12 delegates or upcoming open courses at our training center in Cambridge

For group bookings we can come to you.

Certification

Delegates are assessed throughout the course by the trainer and need to complete a written assessment at the end of the course. Successful delegates will receive a Level 2 Award in Emergency First Aid at Work certificate. Certificates are valid for 3 years and then delegates will need to re sit the qualification to remain qualified (this must be attended no later than 28 days after the expiry on the original certificate)
